CCI’s Board of Visitors’ (BOV) fall board meeting on Nov. 8 was led by new BOV chair, Ed Ingle (BS/PR ’83), and new BOV vice-chair, Missy Wallen (BA/ Comm ’74). Ingle is Managing Director of Government Affairs for Microsoft Corp. and Wallen recently retired as Tennessee State President for BB&T (Branch Banking & Trust).
The all-day BOV meeting provided members with briefings on the schools’ and college’s progress, challenges and opportunities. Four students also shared their educational experiences with BOV members.
BOV members also attended the Patrick Auditorium Naming Ceremony and CCI Awards and Scholarship Donor Appreciation Banquet on Friday and the Homecoming Tailgate party on Saturday before the football game with Auburn.
During the afternoon, the BOV members along with select faculty and staff members worked in groups to develop action ideas to help CCI implement its strategic plan. The areas of interest on which the groups focused were:
- Alumni Relations and Development
- Communications & Publicity
- Internationalization and Study Abroad
- Research and Technology
- Student Enrichment and Professional Engagement.
