Peyton Manning (BA/CS ’97) has been named Sports Illustrated 2013 Sportsman of the Year. Manning is quarterback of the Denver Broncos and serves as an honorary member of CCI’s Board of Visitors. His selection for the honor is in part because he has maintained his connection with Knoxville “in a really profound way.” “We couldn’t agree more,” said CCI Dean Mike Wirth. “Peyton has been an enthusiastic supporter of CCI, UT and the greater Knoxville community. His return to the football field has been amazing, and we continue to marvel at his remarkable achievements both on and off the football field.” To view the story on the Denver Broncos site, see http://www.denverbroncos.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Manning-Named-Sportsman-of-the-Year/4e1646c0-bc4e-4f92-9bc3-69493846f9bc
