The Tennessee Journalist (TNJN.com) and the Knoxville News Sentinel have teamed up to publish a book on Butch Jones’ first year as head football coach at the University of Tennessee. The book, “Butch: The First Year of the Butch Jones Era at the University,” is available in three forms: a multimedia version for the iPad available at the iBookstore; a print version available at the CreateSpace and Amazon bookstores; and a Kindle version available at the Kindle bookstore. The multimedia edition is $7.99; the print edition, $19.99; and the Kindle, $4.99. Proceeds from the sale of the book will be split between the School of Journalism and Electronic Media and the News Sentinel. The News Sentinel has announced that it will use its proceeds to fund an internship for a journalism student. The Tennessee Journalist is the student-run news website of the School of Journalism and Electronic Media.
“A special round of congratulations goes to Jennifer Brake, editor-in-chief of TNJN.com, who spent a good part of her summer putting the iPad edition together,” said Edward J. Meeman Distinguished Professor Jim Stovall. “She did an outstanding job in editing and designing the book.” Brake, a junior majoring in journalism and electronic media, is currently serving as an intern at the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Chris Wohlwend, JEM lecturer, also contributed his copyediting skills to the project, and Jennifer Dedman of the Knoxville New Sentinel designed the print edition.
