Margaret (Margie) Morrison, professor and director of the School of Advertising and Public Relations, passed away Mar. 11, 2013. Morrison served as director since July 2012. She was interim director of the School from July 2011 to June 2012. Read more

Social Media Week to Feature National, Local Speakers
The College of Communication and Information will host Social Media Week April 2-4. The three-day event will feature presentations, panel discussions and open forums with social media experts from Nike, Dunkin’ Donuts and McCormick & Company, as well as advertising, marketing and public relations agencies from Knoxville and the Southeast. Allard Speaks at National Academy of Sciences Symposium
Suzie Allard, SIS associate professor and acting director of CCI’s Center for Information and Communication Studies, was an invited speaker at Finding the Needle in the Haystack: Strategies for Discovering Research Data Online, a symposium of the National Research Council’s Board on Research Data and Information. The symposium was held Feb. 26 in Washington, D.C., at the National Academy of Sciences. Read more
