Wirth Names New BOV Members

2011 Fall BOV Meeting

CCI Dean Mike Wirth announced the addition of six new members to the College’s Board of Visitors (BOV). This brings the current board to 35 members.  The new members are:  Adam Brown (’94), executive director of social media for Dell; Jackie Cavnar (’94), sourcing specialist for physician recruitment at LifePoint Hospitals; Elizabeth Clement Webb (’03), management & program analyst, Executive Staff, National Security Branch, Office of the Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation; Hilda Murray (’76), executive vice president, TPC Printing & Packaging; Theresa Venable (’03), librarian and programs coordinator, Children’s Defense Fund Haley Farm; and Deb Woolley (’70), past president and CEO of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  In addition, one honorary member was added to the BOV—Peyton Manning (’97), starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos.

Bonnie Carroll, founder, chairperson and chief knowledge officer of Information International Associates, Inc., and BOV chair, will preside over the Fall BOV meeting, Sept. 21-22.  On Friday evening, Sept. 21, BOV members will also participate in the annual CCI Scholarship Donor Appreciation Dinner to be held at the Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park.  The dinner recognizes the many generous scholarship donors who have enabled hundreds of CCI students to realize the dream of obtaining a college education.

The mission of CCI’s BOV is to serve in a collaborative relationship with the leadership and faculty of CCI to improve the educational opportunities of students and advance the reputation of the College’s respective schools.  Members work as ambassadors to the information and communication industry, potential donors, prospective students and the University as a whole.  BOV members contribute their professional expertise and perspective, time and energy, and direct and indirect financial support and lend their influence to the success of the program.  More information about the purpose of the board and a directory with biographical information on each member can be found at this link.
