Doctoral student Nathaniel Evans has had two papers accepted for presentation at the 100th annual AEJMC conference in Chicago to be held in August. His sole-authored work titled “The relationship between uncertainty avoidance and Children’s Online Advertising Regulation Code: Examining the EASA” won the top student paper award in the advertising division.  He is second author on another piece titled “Health self-efficacy and health information seeking: Exploring relationships between source utilization, source trustworthiness, health behaviors, and demographics.” Evans was awarded an AEJMC graduate student travel grant; one of 17 grants (out of 62 applications) funded by AEJMC.

Assistant Professor Courtney Childers and Professor Mariea Hoy’s article, “Partnering with parents:  Suggestions for food marketers and retailers in the ongoing childhood obesity debate,” will be published in the Journal of Food Product Marketing, 18(2), 1-17.

Hoy, Childers and Professor and Director Margaret Morrison have had their paper, “The evolution of self-regulation in food advertising: An analysis of CARU cases from 2000–2010,” will be published in the International Journal of Advertising, 31(2), 257-290.

Assistant Professor Jin-Seong Park and Hoy will have their paper, “But it’s doctor-recommended and I read the fine print:  Antecedents to drug companies’ perceived credibility,” published in Health Marketing Quarterly (forthcoming). 

Hoy and Childers’s paper, “Trends in food attitudes and behaviors among adults with 6-11 year old children,” will appear in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Consumer Affairs.
