Childers paper accepted by Journal of Current Issues & Research in Advertising
“Three Decades of Visual Sexual Imagery in Magazine Advertising for Different Product Categories,” an article written by advertising assistant professor Courtney Childers and Tom Reichert and Len Reid of the University of Georgia, has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Current Issues & Research in Advertising.

Davis paper accepted in Journal of Forestry
The paper, “Do You Hear What I Hear: Better Understanding of How Forest Management is Conceptualized and Practiced by Private Forest Landowners,” by CICS and SIS Post-Doctoral Researcher Miriam Davis and Professor J. Mark Fly of the UT Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries department has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Forestry.
SIS faculty participate in Tenn. Library Association panel
Assistant professors Bharat Mehra, Kimberly Black, and Vandana Singh participated (along with Information Technology Research Lab partners Susan Simmons (Director, Clinch-Powell Regional Library) and Nancy Renfro (Director, Watauga Regional Library)) in a panel entitled “Rural Library Professionals as Change Agents in the 21st Century: Integrating Information Technology Competencies in the Southern and Central Appalachian Region Phase I Planning and Recruitment,” at the Tennessee Library Association Annual Conference 2010: Marketing Matters, from March 17-19, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Harmon to present at Conceptions of Library and Information Science Conference
“Why People are Poor, and Why Are People Wealthy: Powerful Frames,” a paper by associate professor Mark D. Harmon, has been accepted as a poster presentation at the 7th International Conference on Conceptions of Library and Information Science, June 21-24, in London, England.
Heller speaking at Press Association Convention
Professor Rob Heller is in Saratoga Springs, New York, this weekend, speaking at the New York Press Association Spring Convention. His presentations are on Combining Photos and Audio for the Web and Telling Stories through Creative Video.
