Mehra publishes in Encyclopedia of Library and Info. Sciences, presents at ALISE
Assistant Professor Bharat Mehra co-authored and published a paper with Kevin Rioux and Kendra S. Albright (Ph.D. ‘02) entitled “Social Justice in Library and Information Science” in the Encyclopedia of Library and Information Sciences (Third Edition) edited by Marcia J. Bates & Mary Niles Maack.
Mehra will lead a paper presentation (co-authored with SIS’s Kimberly Black, Vandana Singh, and Shu-Yueh Lee (Ph.D. ‘09) entitled “Collaborations between LIS Education and Rural Libraries in East Tennessee: Improving Librarian Technology Literacy and Management Training” during the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) Annual Conference: Creating a Culture of Collaboration, in Boston, Mass., from January 12-15.
Also at ALISE, Mehra will lead a panel presentation (co-authored with Hannah Parris, SIS master’s student) entitled “Open Source Software Collaborations in Tennessee’s Regional Library System: A Website Analysis;” and fill-in on behalf of Ed Cortez during a panel presentation entitled “Creating a ‘Culture of Collaboration’ Across Cultural Borders.”
