Legg Documentary Receives Award

Bob Legg’s documentary, “The Race That Eats Its Young”, won an International Accolade Award in the short documentary category.  The half-hour film documents The Barkley, an ultra-marathon held each spring at Frozen Head State Park.  Billed as the world’s most difficult marathon, the process involved Legg, UT alumnus Dr. Charlie Gee, CCI doctoral student Iveta Imre and 15 students from an advanced production class.  The event necessitated coordination and filming, both on and off trail, over one 80-hour stretch of time, during which the weather fluctuated from warm and sunny to cold and snow-covered.
