ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

Michael J. Palenchar, associate professor, and Shari Veil, University of Kentucky, will be presenting their research paper “The Complex Interweaving of Social Media into Crisis Planning and Response” at the International Conference on Crisis Communication in Aarhus, Denmark, October 6-8.

INFORMATION SCIENCES

Chancellor’s Professor Carol Tenopir is presenting a contributed paper at the Environmental Information Management meeting next week in Santa Barbara, California. The paper, which will also appear in the conference proceedings, is co-authored by Suzie Allard, associate professor, and Miriam Davis (DataONE post-doc). The paper is titled “Understanding the Data Management Needs and Data Sharing Challenges of Environmental Scientists.”

Peiling Wang, professor, has had a paper written with Dr. Yan Zhang, University of Texas, Austin, accepted by IHI 2012: 2nd ACM SIGHIT International Health Informatics Symposium, January 28-30, 2012, Miami, Florida. The paper’s title is “Health information searching behavior in MedlinePlus and the impact of tasks.”
