For the fourth year in a row, WUTK-FM 90.3 “The Rock,” the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s student-run radio station, has been named the Best Radio Station in Knoxville by local weekly publication Metro Pulse.
College of Communication and Information Honors Former Dean Faye Julian with Hileman Award
Faye Julian’s career at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has included some notable “firsts.”
In 1977, she received the first doctorate awarded by the College of Communications.
And, in 2002, when the College of Communications and the School of Information Sciences were merged, Julian became interim dean — and later full dean — to oversee the transition.
Journalist, Education Pioneer Dies at 86
June Adamson, 86, a former journalist for The Oak Ridger and the first woman full professor in the School of Journalism at the University of Tennessee's College of Communications, died Friday at NHC.
