Award-Winning Journalist Adam Clymer to Visit UT
Award-winning journalist and author Adam Clymer will be at UT on Wednesday, April 2, for a luncheon talk and book signing.
The luncheon, sponsored by the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public
Policy, begins at 11:30 a.m. in the UT Visitors Center on Neyland Drive.
Clymer will be discussing his latest book, "Drawing the Line at the Big
Ditch: The Panama Canal Treaties and the Rise of the Right," which he
wrote after doing extensive research of Sen. Baker's papers housed in
the Baker Center's Modern Political Archives.
Clymer has kept Americans informed about their government for more than
four decades, including more than 25 years as chief Washington
correspondent for The New York Times. He has covered Congress, the
White House and presidential campaigns. In 2004 he was named a visiting
scholar at the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of
Pennsylvania, where he served as political director for the National
Annenberg Election Survey. His previous books include "Reagan: The Man,
the President" and "Edward M. Kennedy: A Biography."
