Y&R SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

   Re: Paid Internship Opportunity - Young & Rubicam, NY

 For the fifteenth year, the UT advertising program is seeking applications for a paid internship at Young & Rubicam, NY, for this upcoming summer.  We are fortunate that Y&R has set aside money for a UT advertising student in either account management or account planning.  This opportunity was created by former UT students who worked at Y&R.  In the past, Jeff Winger, Kevin Kirksey, Nicole McPhillips, Chad Hauther, Emily Adams, Andrew Renfro, Nancy Sloan, Natasha Massey, Tania Ventolini, Shibhan Singh, Stephanie Shaw, Rachael Bell, Phil Brooks, Alicia Kenny, Margo Hughes, Megan Oglesby, Amanda Sherrod, Nate Morrow, TJ Flether and Lindsay Reynolds were selected as Y&R interns. Many of these have been offered a permanent job with Y&R.  Others, like Marc Loffredo, have been asked to come back to interview for permanent positions as a result of interviewing for the internship. Y&R has been very impressed with the UT students who have worked for them; therefore, they are giving us this opportunity again this year.

 To be eligible:

 You must be an Ad major, a Junior or at least have one semester until graduation after this upcoming summer.

 You must have a passion for advertising.

 You must be willing to be interviewed in person by Y&R NY.  In the past, the students that Y&R selected to interview also went on the January NYC trip and were interviewed then.  If not already signed up for the January trip, see Dr. Haley

 You must be willing to live in NYC for the summer of 2009.  (Living arrangements can be made through the New York University Summer Housing Office (212) 998-4621 or via Educational Housing (212) 977-9099).

 To apply:

 Submit a one-page resume and cover letter to Dr. Haley, by Noon Tuesday, October 20, 2009.  The letter should be addressed to Dorothy Giannone, Partner,Young & Rubicam, NY, 285 Madison Ave., NY, NY, 10017-4130.  Per Y&R’s request, we will screen applications locally and send the 4 best to Y&R.
