Bates to become first exchange professor in Austria

Professor Ben Bates will be heading to Austria next semester, as the School of Journalism and Electronic Media's first exchange professor at the University of Salzburg.
"I'm very excited to be able to inaugurate the exchanges, and to teach a couple of courses in my primary research area - media economics and new technologies," Bates said.
He also said that he will use the time in Europe to be able to attend conferences and hopefully present a few lectures.
Bates will be with the university from March 2009 until June 2009. He taught in New Zealand most recently from 2001 to 2002, in Finland in 2000, and in Hong Kong in 1992.
