I thought it was about time for an entry.

First, an update on the Digital TV transition.  Currently scheduled for mid-February, there's been talk lately of possible delays.  Here's what is going on:

The FCC has agreed that, for a period of time after the switch, stations may go back to their analog channels in an emergency situation.

Yesterday, the Tribune company filed for bandruptcy, further evidence of the decline of the old guard American newspaper industry.  Interestingly, I learned of this not through mainstream media, but from ESPN - because one of the Tribune's assets is the Chicago Cubs.
